Acetylation of Aniline using Acetic Anhydride
In this experiment, you will perform the above reaction. The reaction mixture will contain the desired product, acetanilide. However, the reaction will also contain the by-product acetic acid as well as un-reacted acetic anhydride. These impurities will be removed using activated charcoal, filtration and recrystallation. Contains enough materials for 15 groups, also includes 1 michromestry organic combostill setup. Additional combostill setups are available for purchase.
